The Stone Circle
Although not a self portrait this refers to an experience when I was advised to climb a mountain naked and give a primal scream when I found a circle of stones at the top. Both the landscape and figure are from life.

A new palette maybe? Burnt and raw umber,Rowney light red(an earth)yellow ochre,raw sienna,black white and vermillion. The black and vermillion were only introduced for composition.and I used a little neutral grey made from ultra blue and burnt sienna to get a purple shadow.This is a neat palette with cool greens from the umbers and yellow ochre.

Incising can be very hard on an arthritic hand, so I am going to see if inking will do the job of showing through the dark underlayers, Gilding with garlic juice over burnished bole

Rublev's Trinity
Cedar panel, Gilding from left to right. Garlic IN bole layer, honey in bole, no additves. Transfer gold on all , breath only for gilding, except the last where i used metho.( looks great , but seems fragile so far.
