The surf has so many varied forms! In this work the intention was to capture the wetness of the rocks, and the waterfalls spilling off them. Because I live on the East coast, I never get to see the sun set behind a wave, and in the afternoon the light is almost always at my back.Even in this painting you can sense the cliffs behind me,casting their shadows on the rocks up close..
See picture 179 in this gallery. Sitting as I am now , in Melbourne, how I miss my studio in Brisbane! Along with the ceiling skylights, there are two rolladoors to let in the light, and dust, and mosquitoes.
